Elm longbow 80# 32"

This is a bow for a friend that introduced me with beautiful world of bowmaking.....
It is elm with high heartwood content with slightly different limbs. 73" long, my friend will probably shoot it at shorter draw in the begining, he had pause in shooting longbows. Contrast between heartwood and sapwood makes this bow very interesting. Slightly set for now, very springy.

Your bows look so beautiful pure. Just as if someone only broke a branch from a tree and directly put a string on this. I hope this does not sound offending as it really is meant as compliment.

Hey Ishi,

i am wondering how the stave looked that you made this beautifull piece from.Very thin sapwood and a lot of nice heartwood.
I guess you took a quite thin tree, grown slowly?
